. . . Cruising aboard "Miss Janet" !
The
crabbing part of the Miss Janet nature trip consists of visiting
some crab traps that we have placed in Wolf Bay. Captain
Skip will explain and show how blue crabs are taken recreationally
and commercially in the bays of Alabama.
You
will learn about the life cycle of blue crabs. Hopefully you will
see blue crabs.and perhaps more when a trap is brought up and we
check the contents.
Sometimes the trap will contain fish, along with crabs. You will
also learn a little about stone crabs. You'll probably see Skip
add bait to the trap just before we continue on our way.
Keep
you eyes and cameras ready as the dolphin are probably checking
us out as we prepare for the next aspect of the Nature Tour: Shrimping.
